The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali
In concert with our subsidiary, Hawaiian Islands Forwarders, Venn-Corp was retained to manage the inbound, construction materials; furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) and soft goods packages related to the owner’s refreshment program of its 600+ Unit resort property on Maui. In conjunction with this project, Venn-Corp has:
Developed a multi-modal, in-bound supply chain to serve the development program, with suppliers from Asia, Europe and the Americas to our Port of Los Angeles warehouse.
- Managed an ocean shipment consolidation program, preparing site “packages” for delivery based upon the project schedule, reducing ocean tariffs by 30%
- Arranged for project-site storage of FF&E for continuous inventory flow to the installation contractors, eliminating delivery delays and site warehousing costs
- Reduced logistics spend by 2o+% compared to the vendor-managed program
Developed an owner-defined reporting convention, integrating project scheduling, vendor purchase orders and transportation management, including:
- Logistics plan developed in support of the project schedule, identifying potential project impacts resulting from manufacturing or transportation delays
- Logistics budget with variance analysis for transport and warehousing costs, allocated by project code, PO#, vendor and installation contractor
- Management of purchase order fulfillment and adherence, with variance reporting back to the owner
- Real-time inventory reporting, by project code and PO#
Managed project vendor and contractor relationships on behalf of the owner
- Participated in project status meetings to incorporate changes in site conditions into the project logistics schedule
- Communicated changes in project schedules and production schedules between the project parties to maintain correct material and FF&E flow to the site
- Resolved claims related to delays and damages for the benefit of the owner
- Allowed owner to reduce permanent staffing related to procurement, logistics and inventory management
